Dr Madhavi Mallampalli is an Ayurvedic physician by qualification. Having completed her
B. A. M. S at Venkataramana Ayurveda College, Chennai, she went on pursue her M.D (Ay)
at Dr. B. R. K. R Govt Ayurveda College, Hyderabad. Kuchipudi exponent and teacher
Madhavi was initiated into Bharathanatyam at the tender age of 5, and participated in
many classical, semi-classical and folk dances throughout her schooling.
It was at age 13 that she was drawn to the captivating and innovative Kuchipudi form of the famed
Padmabhushan Dr Vempati Chinna Sathyam and briefly attended the Kuchipudi Dance Academy
before having to focus on her medical career and academic progress. Out of her innate
passion for the classical art form of Kuchipudi, she resumed practicing the classical
art form under the guidance of Dr Sathyapriya Ramana, who is one of the foremost pupils
of Dr Vempati Chinna Sathyam, apart from being a veteran exponent of over 1000 stages
and a much sought after Guru on the Kuchipudi dance scenario. Under Dr Sathyapriya’s
expert tutelage, she has been performing and winning accolades in some of the foremost
dance festivals and sabhas around the country.
